Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, a charming peninsula in the South of France, is redesigning its public spaces to offer users greater comfort. Faced with intense Mediterranean sunshine, creating islands of coolness in the urban environment is now a necessity. In response to this climatic and landscaping challenge, we installed a planted pergola from our CUB line, designed to provide shade for pedestrians and walkers.
Instead of opting for a conventional roof, we chose to integrate climbing plants. By gradually colonizing the structure, the vegetation creates a veritable living canopy. This green roof makes it possible to :
