Signage for the Cité de l’Espace

Since 2012, Cité de l’Espace has undergone a major overhaul to meet new public expectations. Its aim is to reach a wide audience of adults and children, and to appeal to as many people as possible. As part of this renovation Polymobyl produced the outdoor signage and scenography designed by Agence NC . Several months of technical design were required to finalize the furniture, as each was different in shape and size. Each piece of furniture is custom-designed and manufactured, requiring expertise in signage, street furniture and lighting. In fact, the originality of the furniture lies in its round shape, the integration of ambient lighting, and the printing of high-impact educational visuals. Each piece of furniture thus contributes to the theatricalization of the space, which goes far beyond traditional signage. The furnishings are a mix of teaching aids and urban furniture, with the integration of discovery devices, interactive tools, benches… The whole unit is made of lacquered metal, the visuals are printed on aluminum with protective varnish, and the lighting is LED with dimmer. The deployment of this new signage throughout the site has created a specific atmosphere in harmony with the Cité de l’Espace’s visual identity.
