What is the role of signage?
This term refers to all the visual aids used to orient and inform the public while structuring the space. Signage meets four key needs:
- Orientation: directional signage adapts to both urban and natural environments, and to the marking of paths and roads.
- Identification: this type of support helps people find their way around a site or building.
- Interpretation: these signs provide information of a cultural, historical, geological or naturalist nature…
- Information: this involves providing safety instructions, opening times and other useful information to users.
